Malonioji is a new art space, which opened it’s doors in April 2012 with an exhibition by Alex Linderholm. It is based in an old wooden house in Žvėrynas, one of the most green and cozy suburbs of Vilnius. Malonioji is named after the street name (which means something like „The Pleasant One“) and is run by a well-known Lithuanian artist Žilvinas Landzbergas, who says that he didn't want to copy the traditional format of an art gallery or a traditional white cube. Malonioji is a combination of a flat and a salon. It aims to be a space for meetings of different generations. The local art lovers are informed about its activities via private messages and word of mouth.
